One of the first learning tasks that the little ones have to acquire and integrate in their school stage with respect to numbers are the multiplication tables, being very important and necessary as a basis for the subsequent beginning of calculation operations and math problems. At that time, it is common and understandable for many parents to ask themselves, How can they learn multiplication tables in a fun way? We have the solution!

First of all, it is important to break down the levels of difficulty multiplication tables, to avoid that the task is too long and managing to encourage the children little by little with what they are already acquiring. And it is not the same to work the natural order of the tables from 1-10, than to order the tables in levels of lesser and greater difficulty, as we propose in the following classification:

Level 1: tables 1 and 10
Level 2: tables of 2, 4, and 5
Level 3: tables of 3 and 6
Level 4: tables of 7, 8 and 9

Once the idea of the levels is raised, it will be much easier for children to have a positive vision of what they already know and what they have yet to finish learning.

Below we propose three fun ways to train, being able to choose between any of the options, according to the preferences and abilities of the little ones: auditory skills (melody, music and rhythm), motor skills (crafts and movements) and / or visual skills (colors, shapes and images).

With the following proposals, parents and children can have fun and learn beyond the simple repetition and oral memorization of numbers:

- Playing with the boards through listening skills
In this first proposal we can use existing videos with songs that help to memorize each of the tables with a rhythm or song. But many families can find it much more fun to try to create a song and melody totally their own and as a team, being able to be accompanied, in either case, by instruments (tambourines, drums, triangles, bells, etc.) or simply with the palms of the hands.

- Playing with the boards through motor skills
In this second proposal we can use materials such as plasticine, buttons, balls or any small object that the child prefers. Counting and grouping each combination (2 x 5 = 10, until they understand that this means repeating the number of 5 objects twice and finally counting that 10 results). Not only using a pencil and a sheet, but offering many other more real and tangible varieties that will favor your integration and understanding of the idea of multiplying or putting together groups of quantities of objects.

- Playing with the tables through visual skills
In this third and final proposal that we launch, we can use colors and images of objects to better visualize the quantities. The idea is that the tables stop being a simple stimulus of black and white numbers and that the children can better remember what quantities they refer to exactly. Being able to also color the tables according to what we already know of one color and those more complicated of another color.

Since Guiainfantil.com We recommend that you start with a proposal and that, once the child has done with it, you introduce others so that it has a better time and it is all more novel.
